Life is a stage. And for me, acting has been with me as an interest since I was a small boy. One can clearly see that on old super 8 films my dad took – I was always popping up in front of the camera smiling. When I was 10 years old, I played one of the two up-to-no-good boys in the amateur theatre in Örnsköldsvik. We played in schools and also did a tour to Moirana in Norway.
In the spring of 2017 we heard about a short film festival, GBG Shorts, and me and my pal Real Laplaine decided to act out a scene from one of his action novels.
Subject X. They thought he couldn’t be broken. Many had tried, but they had all ended up with depression or addiction. But this was before Subject X was faced with the man only known by his designation – The Interrogator. Preview Trailer. Starring Real Laplaine and Bengt Alvang. The Interrogation ™

Bengt the ”garden expert”.
Later we moved south to the West Coast of Sweden, and I joined the choir and played the main male part in a musical in the high school (gymnasium, ca 11th degree), and sang solo plus duett, in the typical swedish style of the 70ies – very left oriented. I sang ”Is it possible to be happy – if you are not beautiful – what do you think?”. We toured also to a school in Norway and in Copenhagen.
After that, I was more into music composing and performing, until 2008, when I acted as a Volvo engineer in a commercial, which probably re-triggered my acting interest, so I started to participate in films as an extra or advanced extra, and sometimes commercials. It´s a great way to take a break from my usual business and to meet interesting strangers and have a lot of fun. The money for an extra in Sweden is mostly 300 sek for a day, and for a commercial perhaps 1000 – 3000:- sek. My ambition is to suddenly be casted for playing a proper role in a film or tv series, perhaps police detective? With age, I have gotten more grey haired and wrinkled, and that looks good on the screen 🙂
We all play roles. If we play them conciously, and not for destructive ends – in acting or in life – it can be real fun.
